Certificate of Analysis Disclaimer
Last updated: April 2026
1. Purpose of the Certificate of Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a reference document summarizing the results of analytical testing performed on a specific production batch of a research compound. COAs typically report purity determined by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), identity confirmation by mass spectrometry (MS), and, where applicable, additional specifications such as endotoxin content. COAs are provided for informational and recordkeeping purposes only.
2. No Warranty
COAs are provided AS IS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Analytical testing is performed by third-party laboratories, and Orion does not independently verify or guarantee the accuracy of third-party analytical data.
3. Scope of Analysis
A COA reports only the specific analyses performed and does not certify compound behavior in any biological, experimental, or end-use context. A COA does not constitute a representation that the compound is safe, effective, or suitable for any particular use, including any use in humans. Compounds sold by Orion are for in-vitro research only and have not been evaluated by the FDA for any therapeutic, diagnostic, or clinical purpose.
4. Buyer Verification
Buyers engaged in research that requires verified identity or purity should independently confirm compound specifications using analytical methods appropriate to their experimental context before use. Reliance on a COA alone is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Orion disclaims all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from reliance on COA data, including claims for breach of warranty, negligent misrepresentation, strict liability, or any other theory. See our Terms of Service for the full limitation of liability.
6. Post-Shipment Handling
Values reported on a COA reflect compound state at the time of analysis. Orion cannot verify the storage, handling, or environmental conditions to which a compound has been exposed after it leaves our fulfillment partner’s custody. Buyers are responsible for compound integrity upon receipt.
