Laboratory Reconstitution Guide

Standard preparation protocol for lyophilized peptides.

Step-by-Step Protocol

01

Preparation

Confirm peptide quantity in vial. Allow vial to reach room temperature before proceeding. Gather all required sterile equipment.

02

Reconstitution

Add appropriate sterile solvent slowly along vial wall. Do not shake. Gently swirl to mix. Allow peptide to dissolve completely (1-3 minutes).

03

Calculation

Concentration = peptide amount (mg) / solvent volume (mL).

Example: 5 mg / 2 mL = 2.5 mg/mL
04

Storage

Store reconstituted solution at 2-8 degrees C. Protect from light. Use within 30 days. Label with date, compound, and concentration.

Equipment Required

  • Sterile solvent (per protocol requirements)
  • Alcohol prep pads (70% isopropyl)
  • Calibrated pipettes or transfer devices
  • Labels with date and compound
  • Sterile vial caps
  • Gloves and clean work surface

Protocol Notes

  • Do not vortex or shake reconstituted solution.
  • Label all vials with date, compound, and concentration.
  • Discard if solution appears cloudy or discolored.
  • Use only recommended sterile solvent per your protocol requirements.

For recommended solvent volumes per compound, see the concentration reference table. For storage and handling guidelines, see storage and handling.
